The Coppice Hotel Fire
The Coppice Hotel, having been empty since Covid, was finally burnt down on 31 January 2024.
Since becoming empty and boarded up, it has on numerous occasions been vandalised by local kids and i suppose it was inevitable that one day it would go up in flames.
Unfortunately I missed the start of the fire and was only when I went to make a cuppa that i realised what was happening, so went out and managed to get some images.
Didcot Railway Center
Back in August 2023 together with Mike Bond, Mike Crow and John Baker, we made a visit to Didcot Railway Center.
The visit was an evening shoot organised by Timeline Events and had a number of engines in steam
Arriving there early we were able to have a good look around and get a cuppa.
While there was still some daylight an engine was taken down to the turntable for a few shots then back up to the shed area where the focus for the evening was.
Inside the shed steam machines and lighting was provided along with a number of re enactors
All made for a great evening with plenty to photograph.
Exmouth Power Boat & Ski Club New Years Day Rally
What a great start to the New Year, along with Mike Bond we had a great morning at Exmouth for there annual New Years Day Rally.
Nothing better than a good breakfast to start you off so we visited Dockside Cafe very enjoyable then meeting with a few of the drivers.
A good walk along the esplanade up to our chosen location near the Lifeboat station where the sea was a little more rough.
So a good mixed assembly of boats for this 25 minute run and we were lucky the rain kept of until about the last lap.
Some good out of the water images and finished of in the boat club house for hot cup of tea.
Exmouth Kite Surfing
Today had time out at Exmouth with Alex Hamer to photograph the Kite Surfers. Weather was sunny with a good wind

The Urban Architecture of Plymouth
This project is a collaboration of work from three photographers local to Torbay. These photographers are myself, Stuart Chapman ARPS CPAGB, Alex Hamer and Dave Collerton. The idea behind this exhibition is to better understand how three very different photographers see the same urban landscape. Visiting Plymouth at the same time, standing in the same place and looking at the very same urban landscape, it is quite amazing how each photographer has been able to capture such different perspectives and images.
Here are just a few of the 36 images captured on the day. Click on any image to see the full album.
